PTFE GASKETS (TEFLON GASKETS)

Interstate Specialty Products supplies PTFE gaskets (Teflon gaskets) for medtech, scientific, electronics, and industrial applications.

For over 60 years, our Made in the USA manufacturing company has supplied custom gaskets that meet client requirements for performance, reliability, and cost.

Teflon, a synthetic fluoropolymer with excellent dielectric properties and a low coefficient of friction, is the DuPont brand name for polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). Teflon gaskets provide excellent thermal insulation and resist corrosive chemicals. However, Teflon seals begin to decompose at temperatures around 500° F.

Built to Last: PTFE Gasket Materials

Interstate Specialty Products can manufacture Teflon gaskets from virgin PTFE, or recommend compounds that contain PTFE and various fillers for improved resistance to strong acids or caustics. In addition, we can source expanded Teflon gasket material (ePTFE) that’s easier to compress and conforms to rough surfaces.

Pure PTFE gaskets are chemically inert and water-resistant, but tend to deform under use. For improved resistance to creep and cold flow, Interstate Specialty products may recommend Gore GR gaskets instead. Gore GR sheet gasketing is an expanded PTFE for industrial applications.

Finding the Right PTFE (Teflon) Solution

Ask Interstate Specialty Products if Teflon seals are right for your industrial, laboratory, or electronics applications. PTFE gaskets are also used in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. As an electrical insulator, Teflon gaskets may be the right choice for semiconductors and computers, too.

Interstate Specialty Products can die cut Teflon to exacting tolerances, and supply PTFE gaskets with fabric supports and adhesive backings.
