NITRILE/BUNA-N GASKETS

Nitrile gaskets for medical and scientific, electronics, and industrial applications

Interstate Specialty Products supplies nitrile (Buna-N) gaskets for medical and scientific, electronics, and industrial applications. For over 50 years, our Made in the USA manufacturing company has supplied custom rubber gaskets that meet client requirements for performance, reliability, and cost.

Nitrile, an oil-resistant elastomer, is also known as Buna, Buna-N, and NBR. Nitrile rubber gaskets resist water and many chemicals. They also have good physical properties. Buna gaskets are an excellent choice for use with hydraulic fluids, fats, silicone greases, oils, and petroleum-based fuels such as gasoline.

Buna-N rubber gaskets can deteriorate rapidly when exposed to direct sunlight or ozone, however, so Interstate Specialty Products may suggest another gasket material depending on your requirements. For example, Nitrile (Bun-N) gaskets exhibit poor resistance to solvents and chlorinated hydrocarbons.

Widely used and cost-effective, Buna-N rubber gaskets are available in commercial, premium, military, and FDA grades. By compounding nitrile with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or curing this synthetic rubber with sulfur or peroxide, rubber compounders can improve NBR’s properties for industrial gaskets.

Interstate Specialty Products can manufacture nitrile (Buna-N) gaskets from a variety of grades, including high-strength NBR rubber. As an experienced gasket manufacturer, we can recommend die cutting or digital knife cutting, cut parts to small or large sizes, and supply low-volume and high-volume quantities.

Interstate Specialty Products can die cut nitrile sheets to exacting tolerances, and custom fabricate Buna rubber gaskets with fabric supports and adhesive backings.
