Our selection of vent materials and vent manufacturing capabilities allows for Interstate Specialty Products to produce your protective vents with speed, accuracy, and precision – regardless of part size or run quantity. With our precision die cutting, we can also manufacture vents with intricate cross-sections.

Interstate Specialty Products die cuts protective vents for medical and scientific, electronics, and industrial applications. For over 50 years, our Made in the USA manufacturing company has been die cutting rubber and plastic components at our custom fabrication facility in Sutton, Massachusetts.

Die cut vents are made of porous PTFE, such as Gore, and Porex® membranes. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is used in many venting applications because PTFE membranes offer chemical compatibility and support for a wide temperature range. Gore is an expanded PTFE material, while Porex® PTFE membranes are strong and robust.

Venting supports design flexibility, system reliability, pressure equalization, and temperature stabilization. Depending on your application, Interstate Specialty Products can supply vents that help to protect sensing surfaces, prevent short circuits, and control air/gas exchanges.

Automotive applications for vents:

  • ABS brakes
  • Batteries
  • Electric motors
  • Headlamps
  • Power steering systems.

Healthcare applications for vents:

  • Catheters
  • Drainage bags
  • Sterilization
  • Suction canisters
  • Medical and surgical instruments

Packaging vents are used with caps and closures.

Interstate Specialty Products also custom manufactures electronic vents for cabinet housings, power supplies, and memory storage devices. By equalizing pressure, reducing condensation, and blocking water and contaminants, venting supports the performance of outdoor electronics such as lighting.

Ask Interstate Specialty Products if PTFE vents, Gore vents, or Porex® vents are right for your application, and about venting with adhesive backings. To learn how our custom manufacturing capabilities support your application, contact us on-line or call (800) 984-1811.
