Mupor PTFE Membrane

Advantages of Mupor
The advantages of Mupor are striking in terms of production, performance, product range and cost of use.

  • Mupor membrane is strong and robust; it does not require a laminated support for handling, but is available laminated to a polypropylene backing upon request
  • Three dimensional pore structure with good control over pore size and pore distribution.
  • Mupor membrane is resistant to pore closure under pressure for consistent performance over the life of the filter
  • Mupor membrane is USP23 approved, non-cytotoxic and sterilizable by steam and EtO.

Laboratory Filtration
PTFE membrane discs are perfectly suited for laboratory scale filtration of aggressive organic solvents, concentrated acids, alkalis, and cryogenic fluids, which would attack other filtration membranes. They are also well suited for air sampling and particulate analysis.

Mupor PTFE membranes offer a range of thickness and pore size previously unavailable to filtration device manufacturers. Since they require no laminated support, increased temperature and chemical resistance is possible. Mupor PTFE membranes are available in custom width rolls to accomodate automated assembly equipment for disposable disc filters. Standard disc thickness ranges from 0.5mm to 3.5mm, so Mupor discs are also suitable for use as column support in chromatographic separations.

Typical laboratory applications include:

  • Clarification of HPLC solvents
  • HPLC sample preparation
  • Chromatography column support
  • Filtration of high purity gases
  • Clarification of non-aqueous fluids
  • Air sampling
  • Particulate analysis
  • Venting of containers
