KAPTON INSULATION

Kapton is a polyimide film from DuPont with a strong balance of electrical, chemical, mechanical, physical, and thermal properties.

Interstate Specialty Products die cuts Kapton insulation for medtech, electronics, and industrial applications. For over 60 years, our Made in the USA manufacturing company has been die cutting thermal and electrical insulation materials at our custom fabrication facility in Sutton, Massachusetts.

Kapton has good dielectric strength over a wide temperature range. It does not readily melt or burn, and has a UL-94 flammability rating. In addition to strong chemical resistance, Kapton insulation is suitable for high radiation environments. Kapton tape has a silicone adhesive, and is suitable for electronics, optics, and medtech manufacturing.

Interstate Specialty Products can die cut Kapton sheets for electrical and electronic applications such as flexible printed circuits, motor slot liners, and magnetic tape. Die-cut components made from this polyimide film are also used for insulating capacitors, formed coils, magnet wires, and transformers.

As an experienced insulation manufacturer, Interstate Specialty Products can also recommend types of Kapton with anti-static or thermally conductive properties. In addition to standard Kapton types such as HN, VN, and FN, we can source polyimides that are corona resistant or suitable for cryogenic use.

Interstate Specialty Products can laminate Kapton film with other materials and adhesives, and manufacture Kapton electrical insulation via precision die cutting or digital knife cutting methods.
